#1 PetSafe Chili (spicy)
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb spicy/hot sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 pkg chili mix
- 32 oz red kidney beans 2 cans
- 15 oz diced tomatoes 1 can
- 4 oz diced jalapeños, finely chopped 1 can
- 6 oz tomato paste 1 can
- 20-30 oz water
- 2 tbsp walt
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp cayenne powder
- 2 tbsp dried crushed red pepper
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- ketchup, as needed
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and ground sausage. Drain excess grease.
- Add the beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, onion, tomato paste, and water. Do not drain cans.
- Stir in the packaged chili mix, salt, chili powder, cayenne pepper, red pepper, and black pepper.
- Allow to simmer for 30 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Add additional seasonings and/or ketchup to taste.
- Allow to cook on low for 3 hours for seasoning to blend.
