Fruit for Stack Cake/Pies (without drying)

Recipe handed down from Lousie Myers Woodruff.
Course Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3 gallons Apples, cut Rome or Winesap
  • 8 cups Sugar
  • 1 cup Vinegar
  • 3 tsp Cinnamon

Instructions

  • Cook apples on low heat till tender.
  • Drain water to leave about half.
  • Mash apples and add the remaining three ingredients.
