One Egg Cake
Originally handed down by Virginia Miles.
Ingredients
- ½ cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups self-rising flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- In a mixer, beat shortening and sugar till creamed.
- Add egg and vanilla, beat well.
- Add flour and milk and mix well.
- Bake at 350° until golden brown and knife comes out clean, about 30-45 minutes.
