What a privilege it was to be with a great woman and family. We gathered Saturday at Everett Rec to celebrate 90 years of my great aunt’s life. Mrs. Louise Myers Woodruff was born February 20, 1926, in Cades Cove. She is my grandmother’s sister. Soft-spoken, gentle spirit with a large heart for loving and caring. Her children are all the same, maybe less of the soft-spoken part (joking).
Aunt Louise has been such a great help when it came to hearing about our history in the Cove. Many years ago we had taken her to the Cove to do a documentary of sorts on our family’s history. Many stories were shared, some sad while some uplifting. The games they played and the journeys they led were exciting to hear about. She even wrote a song and sung this song to us during this time. Such an impact on all of our lives.
A wonderful time of fellowship was spent, seeing family and some I’d never met before. Cherish the time you have for you never know when it will be the last.
